The Human Relations Commission is pleased to amplify and promote the many community activities being presented to commemorate Juneteenth this year!
Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, is a holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States. June 19th is the anniversary date of the 1865 announcement of General Order No. 3 by Union Army General Gordon Granger proclaiming freedom from slavery in Texas nearly two and a half years after the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation.
Join us for one of these great events!
Thank you to the numerous community organizations working to organize them!
